The TR Series is touted as one of the most affordable line of loudspeakers from JBL Professional. These speakers are engineered for music and live sound reinforcement. JBL took a feather from their high-end concert touring and live performance systems to come out with these dynamically designed speakers. Each loudspeaker in the TR Series contains a liquid-cooled, high-frequency compression driver made from a pure titanium diaphragm and JBL's trademarked diamond surround. In addition, the TR Series boasts of JBL's "Optimized Aperture" horn, which was first employed during their popular concert touring systems. JBL revolutionized the use of flattened wire called "edgewound" in voice coils to fuel its speakers with greater output sensitivity. In other words, more sound per watt! While woofers in most systems within this price range contain a 2-inch voice coil, the TR Series is packaged with a 2.5-inch edgewound voice coil for enhanced power handling capabilities. To further increase the output sensitivity in these speakers, a hefty-sized magnet is used. For achieving a perfectly balanced sound, the TR Series applies a crossover network that is capable of surviving years of road use, providing superior acoustic performance. JBL also features a special "multiple-slope" crossover design for its TR225 dual woofer. This design is tailor-made to serve two purposes: first, render extra low-frequency punch, and second, minimize undesirable interference between the drivers. All models in TR Series contain multiple input connectors for added convenience.
