MRX515 builds on the MRX500 Series’ promise of a lightweight, portable yet powerful speaker system out-of-the-box. DJs and musicians can now plan their next performance whether the venue is miles away or in the neighborhood without having to think too much about transporting the acoustic devices. This 15-inch wonder box in a fortified enclosure pumps out tons of high decibel sound taking everybody in the audience in its magical fold.

MRX515 is two-way, bass-reflex speaker system designed for stimulating the delivery of music and speech. They are commonly used as main PA applications. Rigorously tested for road worthiness, MRX515 is conditioned for long hauls and all terrain conditions. You’ll not be surprised that years of rough handling and thousands of performances later, your JBL MRX515 is still standing tall without an iota of rustiness.

A 15-inch Differential Drive woofer–JBL 265H low frequency driver–handles 400 watts continuous power without a murmur where the other audio systems suffer from the effects of power compression at peak power output levels. Programmed with a customized waveguide of constant beam width and power response, MRX515 adds a zing to the prerecorded or live performance. These speakers are at least 30% lighter than traditional speaker systems because they use super lightweight Differential Drive transducers.

MRX515 is designed as a satellite speaker system that can be mounted on a dual angle pole or a standard tripod speaker stand. Perched atop the pole or tripod stand, the lightweight speaker weighing only 19.5 kg (43 lbs) is powerful enough to take the entire listening range in its spell. If JBL’s dual angle pole mount is used, MRX515 can be setup vertically or mounted with a downward slant of 10° so that speakers face the audience instead of the back wall and the sound is fully absorbed rather than rebounded.
The high frequency transducer, a 1.5-inch JBL 2408H annular polymer diaphragm and neodymium compression driver, complements the 15-inch low frequency transducer providing extraordinary power handling capability and sound quality. The drivers are mounted to a 70o x 70o horn for efficient on and off axis audio coverage.

Each precision-engineered electrical part is housed in a plywood vented enclosure that is coated with DuraFlex for a rugged finish and durability. The woofer is fortified further with a 16-gauge steel grille lined on its inner side with an acoustically transparent screen.

Because of its mobility, MRX515 is well-suited for schools, places of worship, open auditoriums, and other places that require truly portable systems.
