JBL Professional MRX512MThe MRX500 series is built for musicians and DJs who are always on the move. With movement come transportation worries. Even seasoned DJs get jitters when they have to move all the musical accompaniments at short notice. That is why light-weight, portable speaker systems are so much in demand. With MRX512M, a much talked about two-way speaker system, you would have added an invisible yet invaluable stage monitoring system to your collection of portable acoustic devices. MRX512M is your best bet to remove fatigue and boredom from a speaker system that is constantly subjected to rough road conditions.

MRX512M is a utility speaker system that caters to the intense monitoring requirements of a live stage performance. Built-in speech, vocal, and acoustic music reinforcement capabilities make MRX512M a premium stage monitoring application. A 12-inch 400-watt Differential Drive woofer–JBL 262H–is used to minimize the excursion of audio waves and other audio distortions resulting from power compression at peak power output levels. Programmed with a customized waveguide of uniform beam width and power response, MRX512M has an all pervading presence.

MRX512M can be used as a main speaker in vertical orientation or mounted horizontally as a monitor on a subwoofer. In either orientation, a 70° x 70° horn ensures efficient coupling for the device driver resulting in even coverage along the entire listening range. A 1.5-inch annular polymer diaphragm, neodymium compression driver completes the 12-inch woofer to produce a powerful transducer engine with extraordinary power handling capability and sound quality compared to other speaker systems in its class.

Tight cabling is integral to laying out the acoustic devices in the playing area. MRX512M speakers have NL4 connectors on both sides so that any long cable runs can hook up with the stage monitor applications as well as easily reach the tripods.

MRX512M may be used as a satellite speaker mounted on a subwoofer or a tripod using the dual angle pole mount receptacle. In a slave-master setting, while the common practice is to vertically mount the speaker, a slightly angular mounting with a downward slant of 10° is good for optimum audience coverage.

Each precision-engineered electrical part is housed in a plywood vented enclosure that is coated with DuraFlex for a rugged finish and durability. The woofer is fortified further with a 16-gauge steel grille lined on its inner side with an acoustically transparent screen.
